Managing risk

Risk assessments of business drivers need to be conducted in order to comply with legislation. We have developed a risk 'filter system' to identify drivers who are 'at risk', and to ensure appropriate urgent action.

It is important that all risk assessments are reviewed regularly and updated as soon as possible, for example, on receipt of a new car or a change to work tasks.

The information provided in the risk management filter will assist professionals responsible for the occupational health management of business drivers. Once levels of risk have been assessed, targeted training can be developed.

Cost-benefits of managing risk

Occupational health teams may need to demonstrate the benefits of investing in the occupational health of drivers. Please see:Cost-benefits of managing risk for further information.
